Jaaaag. All day. It has style that the 928 can't touch. British V12 sexyness for me please.
928 is little more than a German Corvette.

928 and a weird swap sounds like fun to me. Think I could fit a flat-four from a WRX STI in there?

I would probably go and look at both but I have to go with the Porsche.

928, rip the miserable Porsche drive train out and put an LSX/T-56 in it.

Can't you say the same for the XJ? I thought SBC XJ swaps were pretty common. Either way, still want no part of either.

Yeah but the XJ is heavy and fugly.

That's be my choice as well, but fuck, look at the bay
I cannot even imagine the pain one would feel upon dropping that one bolt down into this abyss

Personally I like the look of the XJ a bit more than the porker, that thing has a fat ass

I'd take the XJ looks over the 928, never liked the 928's funky pop up headlights. I prefer a traditional pop up like on the 944. Although the 944 probably has the heaviest most over engineered pop up headlights ever, what a pain. Stay away from water cooled Porsches from the 80s.

That would be a hilarious swap, image a sound as unrefined as a WRX boxer coming from a Porsche

You'd probably end up sinking almost as much into it as they cost new!

Some other power upgrades would be added to the engine, as well as a manual swap. Then add some rally lights, a fun colour scheme, and I'll have a silly winter car.

Plus auto
Auto in a jag is acceptable, not so in a Porsche.

Porsche, because of a few reasons.
One, trying to do any work under the hood of a V12 XJS is likely to be as tough or even more so than you'd think.
Two, I ran a plate check on the 928, and it appears to have passed it's emissions checks since at least as far back as '01 up to when it stopped running, so that would mean the car should pass once again when it's back up and running to keep it's clean record, whereas I couldn't check the Jag because no plates.
Three, I'm just a sucker for 928s, period.

I hate those Porsche headlights but V12 parts are scary. Just got me to thinking about the V12 rumble though....

Wasn't there one with like 400 hp and 700 torque? The best sort of insanity.

I discussed something not unlike this with K-Roll in the past. I would go with a Cayenne Turbo engine. Keep it in the family at least.

Jag, swap an SBC into it. 928's are ugly IMO.

Nah, 2 Finnish Diesel 928s with some insane numbers. Was years back I saw it though, dunno if I can locate it on the net. Cool to see a Jag done.

I figure you could DIY the parts for at least $80, maybe even $100 less than if you bought it outright.

hmm. Yeah. But it would be just wrong to not have that V12 in there
